About
For many children, routines provide a sense of stability and reduce the uncertainty that can contribute to stress, anxiety, and dysregulation. When routines are disrupted, unclear, or inconsistent, children may experience difficulty coping, which can impact their emotions, communication, participation, and behaviour. This snapshot encourages us to look beyond behaviour and consider how routines, transitions, expectations, and predictability may be influencing a child's experience. By creating supportive routines and understanding the role they play in regulation and wellbeing, we can help children feel more confident, secure, and able to participate in everyday life. Who Is This Resource For? This resource is designed for parents, caregivers, educators, support workers, allied health professionals, behaviour support practitioners, counsellors, and anyone supporting a child or young person who may be experiencing sensory differences or sensory-related challenges.
