ConnectFirst™
Connection first

Connection comes first.

A different way of understanding behaviour, learning, and children.

How ConnectFirst™ began

ConnectFirst™ and Einstein Lab were born from a shared concern. Lindy and Meg bosteam worked in education and saw how many children were unable to succeed in traditional school settings.

Too often, children were expected to fit steame system. When they struggled, the focus shifted quickly to behaviour, compliance, and outcomes rather than asking:

What does this child need to feel safe, connected, and ready to learn?

Through child-centred play therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and relationship-based approaches, they found language for something they had already seen:

Before learning comes connection.

Why connection matters

Curriculum frameworks and learning outcomes are important. They provide structure and direction.

But before meaningful learning can take place, something more fundamental must come first:

A sense of safety and belonging.

When a child feels safe, their brain becomes open to curiosity, exploration, and growth. When they feel stressed or disconnected, the brain shifts into protection mode.

In that state, learning is not the priority — survival is.

Regulates the nervous system
Builds safety and trust
Encourages curiosity
Supports co-regulation
Makes learning possible
Strengthens relationships

Einstein Lab

Once connection is established, curriculum can come alive.

Einstein Lab is where curiosity, creativity, and exploration take shape. It reflects our belief that children learn best when they feel safe enough to take risks, ask questions, and make mistakes.

Rather than delivering content, Einstein Lab invites learning to emerge through connection, inquiry, and meaningful engagement.

Connection does not replace curriculum. Connection makes curriculum possible.

An invitation

This is an invitation to see learning differently. To begin with relationship. To prioritise safety, trust, and connection.

And to imagine what education can look like when connection comes first.
